Beware the man of one book” — J. Frank Dobie

After more than twenty-five years collecting Western Americana, I am following the career path of one of my favorite bookmen, Jeff Dykes, the author of the book collecting memoir   I Had All the Fun.

My interests were in books, manuscripts, documents and letters about ranching, cowboys, the range cattle industry and western writers and illustrators.

Special interests:  Dobie, Lea, Hertzog, McMurtry & Hillerman; Russell & Remington illustrated items.  Texana, Civil War. Cattle medals and badges.

Good as it is to inherit a library, it is better to collect one.” — Augustine Birrell
